Running in heels with arms full of washing and toys and plasters and Calpol and an iPad while making the dinner and doing the shopping!!
Hi there.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Corinne, I am 32 years young, married to Barry and mother of two gorgeous kids under the age of 5 (so verrrryyyyy busy). I currently do the marketing for Brian Mc Cormick Sports and while I can certainly talk the talk, I have recently decided to walk the walk (or jog – kinda).
I am in no way a fitness fanatic but like most people nowadays I have always dabbled in some sort of workout or fitness class. However I haven’t always kept them up or I haven’t done them consistently. So there I was one evening couched for the night and I decided that enough was enough, I wanted to take on a challenge, something big!! So I messaged the girls, as you do, and said “ok I’m stagnating on the couch here so hit me with some suggestions that will really push me”. Triathlon was suggested and dismissed because bar the shower myself and water aren’t the best of mates. One bright spark (Edel, I’m looking at you) suggested the 26.2miler that is the Marathon and I immediately said YES!!! I very quickly realised that I probably couldn’t run the length of myself so I decided that I should perhaps start small and work my way up – a more sensible approach!
We decided to not hang around and make a start on our challenge as soon as we could, so on a wet and dull Sunday morning we headed off. I was 110% focussed and very determined. I had some level of fitness as I was besties with Shaun T and ‘Insanity’ for a few months before having my “Eureka” moment on the couch. Such a well named fitness regime. I am sure a lot of you are familiar with it!!
So if you are sitting at home and you want to challenge yourself but didn’t know where to start or if you’ve always fancied yourself as a runner (a person who runs not Mo Farah) then why not follow me on my journey where I will be talking about the good, the bad and the ugly and giving a review on the products that have helped or hindered me on this journey!
Be good to have some company on the way. 26.2 miles, what was I thinking??
